The Exhibition
Art is a force that breaks visible and invisible boundaries, crossing physical and symbolic spaces to reveal the richness of human experience. Reflecting historical and cultural legacies, contemporary art from Africa and the Diaspora is a vibrant example of transcending boundaries. These creators are inventing new visual languages, shaping a hybrid aesthetic that defies fixed categories by combining symbolism, abstraction and figuration, capturing the many facets of African society as well as universal emotions.

The 'HORIZONS' exhibition invites you to discover a plurality of African voices, experiences and identities. It explores how artists from Africa and the diaspora are redefining the boundaries of contemporary art by creating works that transcend cultural, geographical and aesthetic differences. In doing so, it helps to create a space for intercultural dialogue, highlighting the universal language of art, this time through visual language, as a tool for intercultural relations.
